| The year 2006 is going to witness Church Army, for the first time in its history, deploy officers directly into the mission field rather than through the diocese. The society’s General Secretary Steve Maina reveals that bishops have consistently sent him requests to send missionaries to remote areas to help with work. |

| Among the many radical changes the society is kicking off is a new approach to training officers. The new officers who will be graduating will also be: |

- Cross-cultural missionaries
|
- Agents of transformation.
|

| “The 21st Century evangelist from Church Army is vastly different from the traditional one,” Steve says. The new evangelist will be engaging the community in creative ways of making Christ known, influencing not by what they say but by what they do. |

| Since Church Army aims to send into the world change agents, the whole programme rests on the pursuit of training in these stages of life: |
|
- Early Childhood Education( Kindergarten) Give me a child for 5 years
|
- Primary Education: Give me a child for 8 years
|
- High School: Cornerstone Academy
|
- University: Carlile School of Theology and Concord University.

| “We are re-thinking everything,” Mr Maina says. “For instance, when it comes to engaging the non-Christian, we’ve identified a new mission field, i.e. engaging children at school. That’s church-planting. |

| We’ve identified a window of opportunity, the 4-14 window. Children between ages 4 and 14 have been ignored in the past. We’re engaging them through a modern, dynamic and innovative academic programme.” |

| Church Army wants to stimulate radical social transformation in communities across East Africa. Such transformation would be in economic, health, social, and psychological areas. |
