The Tafakari Centre for Urban Mission (CUM) was founded in 2003 as a response to the challenge of equipping the Church for mission in the growing cities of Africa. It is a ministry of Carlile College, a specialist mission training college of Church Army Africa.
CUM is a centre for training and community transformation with a particular focus on slums or informal settlements. It has offices at Carlile College and a training centre in the heart of Kibera, one of the largest informal settlements in Africa.
Over the years, we have worked with many churches in the informal settlements to see God's justice and to demonstrate the love of Christ within the local communities.
